These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of theciples, including the website at theciples.com and our mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"), operated by theciples ("we," "our," or "us") from the Republic of the Philippines.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, including the collection and processing of your personal data and sensitive personal information (including religious beliefs and affiliations) as described in the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use theciples. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may only use the Service with the prior verified consent of a parent or legal guardian. Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), the processing of personal data of minors under 18 requires parental or guardian consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Users under the age of 13 are not permitted to create accounts. If we learn that a user under 13 has created an account without verified parental consent, we will delete the account immediately in compliance with RA 10173.
theciples is a faith-centered community. All users must conduct themselves with respect, integrity, and care for others. The following conduct is strictly prohibited:
theciples is an inclusive Christian community platform welcoming all Christian traditions. We ask that all users:
Content claiming supernatural authority, false prophecy, or spiritual manipulation that could harm users will be removed and may result in account suspension.
theciples offers anonymous prayer request features. You may not abuse the anonymous posting feature to harass other users, post harmful content, or evade platform enforcement actions. Anonymous posts are subject to the same Community Standards as all other content. Anonymity does not exempt you from these Terms.
theciples reserves the right to reveal the identity of anonymous posters to law enforcement or relevant authorities when required by law or when necessary to protect the safety of any person.
You retain full ownership of all content you post on theciples, including prayer requests, testimonies, photos, and videos.
By posting content on theciples, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and reproduce your content within the Service for the sole purpose of operating the platform. We do not use your content for advertising purposes and we do not claim any ownership over your content.
Content posted by other users remains their property. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute content from other users without their explicit permission.
theciples reserves the right to remove any content and take action against any account that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion. Enforcement actions include:
Severe violations — including child safety violations, credible threats of violence, and explicit pornography — will result in immediate permanent ban without prior warning and may be reported to relevant law enforcement authorities, including the Philippine National Police and the NPC.
You may appeal a moderation decision by contacting support@theciples.com within 14 days of the action. We will review appeals in good faith and respond within 30 days.
theciples offers verified badges for churches, pastors, ministries, and creators. Verification is subject to our approval and may be revoked at any time if the account no longer meets our standards. Verified status does not grant immunity from these Terms.
Attempting to obtain verification through fraudulent means, including false documentation, will result in permanent account removal.
The theciples name, logo, wordmark, and platform design are the exclusive intellectual property of theciples. You may not use our brand assets without prior written permission.
If you believe content on theciples infringes your copyright, please contact us at legal@theciples.com with a description of the claimed infringement and your contact information. We will respond to valid takedown requests in accordance with applicable law.
theciples is a community platform, not a pastoral counseling service. Content posted by users, including prayer, Scripture, and encouragement, does not constitute professional spiritual, psychological, medical, or legal advice. No user-to-user interaction on this platform creates a pastoral, counseling, fiduciary, or professional relationship of any kind. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or call the NCMH Crisis Hotline at 1553 (Philippines) or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (US).
Our AI Bible assistant is a study tool only. It is not a substitute for pastoral guidance, theological education, or personal Bible study. AI responses may contain errors and should always be verified against Scripture and discussed with qualified church leaders. theciples makes no representations about the theological accuracy of AI-generated responses.
We strive to keep theciples available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service downtime, data loss, or technical errors beyond what is required under applicable Philippine law.
To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, theciples and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for free users, is zero).
Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), the Consumer Act of the Philippines (RA 7394), or any other law that cannot be excluded or limited by contract.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), the Electronic Commerce Act of 2000 (Republic Act No. 8792), and other applicable Philippine laws and regulations.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, it shall be submitted to mediation and, if still unresolved, to binding arbitration under the rules of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI) in Metro Manila, Philippines. The arbitration shall be conducted in the English language.
For users located outside the Philippines, nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under your local mandatory consumer protection laws that cannot be waived or excluded by contract.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email and by posting a notice in the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. For changes that materially affect your rights or obligations, we will request your fresh agreement before they take effect. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may close your account before the effective date.
You may close your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections 6 (Content Ownership and License), 9 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), and 11 (Limitation of Liability) survive termination.
